This short story is an extended version of the one male/male romance novelist, Jackson Gregory aka Colton Daniel Blackwell, was working on in Murder at the Mansion, the first story in the Blackwell-McKay mystery series. 

Set in ancient Babylon, less than a year before its fall, Dagan finds himself inexplicitly drawn to another man, Anu. On the surface, that seemed perfectly natural, until he found out his possible love interest was an enemy. Both young men are part of a magical Order. 

Unfortunately, their Orders are at odds with one another. The Gods have intervened to use Dagan and Anu to ensure both Orders survive beyond the fall of the Babylonian Empire. But will they be able to convince their parents and respective Orders of what’s happened to them, and will their growing love for one another survive?
